Asian And Pacific Islander Program

The Asian and Pacific Islander program provides services with an emphasis on sensitivity to the unique experiences of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. The Asian and Pacific Islander Program recognizes that social and economic circumstances as well as cultural values and beliefs can hold back some members of our community from reaching out for needed help. Volunteers who are of multi-lingual/multi-cultural Asian and Pacific Islander heritage receive 60-80 hours of state-certified training to become counselors. Volunteers then provide counseling, advocacy, and education services that are linguistically and culturally appropriate for Asian and Pacific Islanders in our community.
