Legal Information
Make an informed decision about reporting the crime. You have a right to report the crime of sexual assault or abuse. It is an important decision so you should have all the facts. A Sexual Assault Counselor can describe the process and answer your questions. Doctors, nurses, therapists, teachers, and social workers are required to call the police if you tell them you have been raped or sexually abused. When they call the police you can still choose whether or not you wish to make a report.
