Support Groups
Groups give survivors the opportunity to continue the healing process with other survivors
who have had similar experiences. Support groups can help break through the isolation that
is common among survivors.
Currently Offered Support Groups
Adolescents' Group: All members of this group were sexually abused as children or adolescents. They were either assaulted or molested by a family member or by a stranger. Group meets twice a month for 90-minute sessions.
Children's Group: Members of this group are the siblings of the Adolescents' Group. Members range in age from 7 to 8. These children were impacted by the abuse endured by their brothers or sisters.
Women's Group: This group supports survivors of sexual abuse who were exposed to the abuse during their childhood or as adults. They meet twice a month for 90 minutes.
Parents’ Group: The members of this group have at least one child who had been sexually abused. The purpose of the group is to provide parents with psycho-education around developmental issues, sexual abuse, and parenting skills. Parents also address their own victimization issues. The group provides a safe place for parents to explore their own victimization issues and encourages them to support their children's healing process.
